Tope Kolade Fasua

Tope Kolade Fasua (born 11 September 1971) is a Nigerian entrepreneur, economist, politician, and writer. He is the Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria on Economic Affairs. Fasua was the 2019 presidential candidate for the Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), which he also founded. He is the CEO of Global Analytics Consulting Limited, based in Abuja, Nigeria. A political reformer and prolific columnist, Fasua has authored over 2,000 articles and seven books.

Early Life and Education

Fasua was born and raised in Lagos. He attended Army Comprehensive High School, Akure, and later studied economics at Ondo State University, graduating in 1991 as the best student in his department, faculty, and the entire school.

In 1996, he became an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He later earned a Master’s degree in Financial Markets and Derivatives with Distinction from London Metropolitan University in 2006.

Fasua also attended executive programs at:

He holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University.

Career

Banking

Fasua began his career in banking in 1991:

  • Citizens Bank Limited – Trainee Officer
  • Standard Trust Bank Limited – Manager
  • Equatorial Trust Bank Limited – Senior Manager, later Regional Director (2001–2005)

Business

In September 2006, he founded Global Analytics Consulting Limited, where he serves as Group CEO.

Writing and Publishing

Tope Fasua has authored multiple books and contributes regularly to Nigerian newspapers and TV/radio programs as a policy analyst.

Politics

Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP)

On 16 December 2016, Fasua led the formation of the ANRP, which was formally registered by INEC on 14 December 2017. He was elected the National Chairman and grew party membership to over 53,000.

Presidential Campaign

On 17 May 2018, at the ANRP NEC meeting, Fasua declared his intention to run for president in the 2019 general elections.
