## History

Our Saviour Institute of Science, Agriculture and Technology (OSISATECH) is a privately owned polytechnic founded in **1989** by **Rev. Fr. Prof. Emmanuel Edeh**, a Catholic priest renowned for establishing various educational institutions in Nigeria. In addition to OSISATECH, he also founded:

- **Madonna University** (Okija, Elele, and Enugu campuses)  
- **Caritas University**, Amorji-Nike, Enugu  
- Multiple secondary schools across the country

OSISATECH was one of the pioneering private institutions that benefited from the **1993 government decree** outlining criteria for recognition of private universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.  

Though it ranked low in the **National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE)** performance index for the **1999/2000 academic year**, the institution has made notable progress. In **November 2012**, its College of Education received an award from the NCCE for **Teachers Development in Nigeria**.  

Founder **Rev. Fr. Edeh** was also honored in **December 2009** with the **African Film Festival and Academy Award in London** for his contributions to education and culture.
