Olagbegi Atanneye I was a paramount ruler of Owo Kingdom in Ondo State, southwestern Nigeria. His reign lasted from 1913 to 1938.


Career

  • Born in Owo, Ondo State.
  • Ascended the throne as Olowo of Owo in 1913.
  • Ruled the kingdom for 25 years, until 1938.
  • A notable member of the Olagbegi royal lineage.
  • Brother to Olowo Ajike Ogunoye.
  • Father of Olowo Olagbegi Atanneye II.

Succession

  • Upon his death or abdication in 1938, he was succeeded by his son, Olowo Olagbegi Atanneye II.
