**Josaiah Ndubuisi Wachuku** (also spelled *Josiah Wachukwu*) was a traditional ruler, paramount chief, and servant leader of **Ngwa-land**, in the former Aba Division of **Eastern Nigeria**, during the **British colonial era**. He held the title of **Eze** (king) of the Ngwa people and played a significant role in local governance and the interface between indigenous authority and British colonial administration.

## Legacy

Josaiah Wachuku is best remembered not only for his leadership among the Ngwa people but also as the **father of Chief Jaja Wachuku**, a prominent figure in Nigeria’s early post-independence political history. His son, **Jaja Wachuku**, held several historic firsts in Nigeria:
- **First Speaker** of the Nigerian House of Representatives
- **First Nigerian Ambassador** and Permanent Representative to the **United Nations**
- **First Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs**

Through his son and his own legacy, Josaiah Ndubuisi Wachuku contributed significantly to the emergence of Nigerian leadership during and after colonial rule.
