Jacobs Edo

Jacobs Edo has been the System Coordinator for the OPEC Fund for International Development since 2010. He is recognized for his work in enterprise systems architecture, including design, implementation, upgrades, enhancements, and long-term support over more than a decade.


Education

Jacobs began his education at Edo College, Benin City in 1990. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1998.

He completed the Shell Intensive Training Programme (SITP) in Warri, obtaining a specialization diploma in Information Technology from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.

Jacobs also holds numerous SAP and global IT certifications. In 2014, he earned the Global Business Transformation Management (GTBM) Master’s Certification from SAP and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland’s Business Transformation Academy.

In 2015, he obtained a master’s degree in Telecommunication and Internet Technologies from the Technical University of Applied Sciences, Vienna.

He is married and has three children.


Career

Jacobs Edo is the author of the book Digital Transformation: Evolving a Digitally Enabled Nigerian Public Service. He is:

  • Co-founder of DigTrans (Austria-based)
  • Co-Chair of the United Nations SAP Special Interest Group (UN SAP SIG), a body of CIOs from international organizations including the World Bank
  • Chair of the Vienna Digital Transformation Meetup
  • Dean of the Vienna School of AI

Jacobs has participated in over 18 SAP implementations, including 4 full life cycle projects. These projects span the oil and gas, consulting, banking, public sector, and non-profit industries.

He has expertise in cloud computing, software-defined businesses (SDB), and network function virtualization (NFV). He focuses on reducing total cost of ownership and improving ROI for customers.


Causes

Jacobs served as Second Vice President of Pengassan – NNPC/NAPIMS. He actively supports Edo College and delivered a motivational career speech there in March 2014.

He is also a known advocate for:
