Ijebu-Owo is one of the five quarters that collectively constitute the township of Owo, located in the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, southwestern Nigeria. The town shares deep historical and cultural ties with the Benin Kingdom, with an exchange of courtly traditions dating back to the seventeenth century.

According to oral tradition, the founders of both Owo and Ijebu-Owo are believed to be descendants of Ojugbelu Arere, the first Olowo of Owo, who himself was a descendant of Oduduwa, the legendary progenitor and first ruler of Ile-Ife, the spiritual cradle of the Yoruba people.

The traditional ruler of Ijebu-Owo is titled the Ojomo Oluda. The current monarch is Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo Ojomo, a retired General of the Nigerian Army.
