Bukar Usman (born 10 December 1942) is a Nigerian folklorist, historian, and author. His intellectual work focuses on history, folktales, and political commentary, contributing significantly to the preservation and study of Nigerian oral traditions.


Early Life and Education

Bukar Usman was born in Biu, Borno State, Nigeria. He began his education with Qur'anic studies in Biu Local Government Area and proceeded to secondary school in the same area in 1951.

He later attended King’s College, Lagos, and then Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he studied History.
