Brenandendron frondosum is a species of flowering plant in the family Asteraceae. It is native to tropical Africa.

Description Brenandendron frondosum (also known as Vernonia frondosa) of the Composite, or Daisy Family (Compositae, or Asteraceae), grows as a shrub or small tree, measuring up to 20 feet (6 m) tall, with a trunk girth of about 1 ft (0.3 m). The sessile leaves measure up to 3 ft (1 m) long and twenty inches (51 centimeters in width. Inflorescences feature purple flowers.

Distribution and habitat Brenandendron frondosum is native to Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Cameroon. Its habitat is in forest clearings.
