Adindu Victor (born 14 March 1999), known professionally as Babyboy AV (formerly AV), is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He gained recognition for his 2021 single "Big Thug Boys", which peaked at number five on the Billboard Triller chart.
Early life
Adindu Victor was born in Benin City, Edo State, to an Igbo father from Delta State and an Edo mother. He was raised in Benin City in a mixed cultural environment. He obtained his first degree from Ambrose Alli University.
Career
Inspired by his father, a guitarist, Babyboy AV developed a passion for music early in life. He began his professional music career in 2018 and released his debut single "Temperature" in 2020, which gained airplay on radio and television. In 2019, he performed at Felabration and other events.
He gained widespread recognition with the release of "Big Thug Boys" in 2021, along with its accompanying music video directed by Director Dindu. The track, which blends Afrobeat and Dancehall, garnered over 10 million views on YouTube.
Following his breakthrough, he performed at the Afro Beach Festival in Accra, Ghana in December 2022, alongside Costa Titch and Kofi Kinaata. In June 2023, he released "Quick Question", his first single of the year, following the rollout of his debut EP.
