Owa Obokun Adimula Alowolodu was a Yoruba Oba (king) in the Ijesha Kingdom, located in present-day Nigeria. He reigned from 1893 to 1894.


Significant Events During His Reign

  • The Ijesha war leader, Balogun Ogedengbe, returned from exile in Iwo.
  • Reverend Oyebode arrived in Ilesa as the first Church Missionary Society (C.M.S.) pastor of African origin to be posted to the city.

Legacy

Though his reign was brief, Owa Obokun Alowolodu ruled during a time of political and religious transformation in Ijeshaland, marked by the return of a prominent military leader and the formal establishment of Christian missionary presence through an African clergyman.
