Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF)

Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF) is a Nigerian not-for-profit organization established in 2016 that leverages technology, media, and communication to fight corruption. It promotes civic engagement, transparency, and accountability through tools like the FlagIt app, nationwide campaigns, and media advocacy programs.

AFF is the convener of the national anti-corruption movement Corruption Not-In-My-Country, endorsed by the European Union, United Nations, and the Nigerian government.


History

AFF began as a campaign promoting social justice, inclusion, and anti-corruption. Founded by Akin Fadeyi, the initiative took a “communication for change” approach to addressing widespread corruption in Nigeria.

  • In 2017, it formally launched the Corruption Not In My Country campaign to combat everyday corruption and mobilize youth as anti-corruption ambassadors.

Launched in 2017, this flagship campaign: - Mobilizes youth, organizations, celebrities, and government agencies to stand against public sector corruption. - Supported by the European Union, UNDP, UNODC, and MacArthur Foundation.

What Women Can Do

A campaign designed to boost women’s participation in governance. - Sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation. - Featured a national competition where young women pitched leadership ideas in fields such as education, agriculture, healthcare, and technology.

Put on Your Thinking Cap

Unveiled in March 2022, this citizen-focused voting awareness initiative: - Aimed at discouraging vote buying ahead of the 2023 Nigerian elections. - Encouraged Nigerians to ask critical questions before voting for any candidate.


Anti-Corruption Reporting

FlagIt App

In partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps, AFF developed FlagIt, a mobile and web app enabling Nigerians to: - Report corrupt practices. - Monitor accountability in real-time. - Facilitate increased citizen oversight.
